I am so happy with these boots. I went to Glacier National Park recently and hiked many trails with these. I have flat feet. Although I don't need a wide shoe, my toes are fairly spread apart and are easily pinched in many shoes. I didn't have that issue with these! The wider toecap was so nice. I wore my custom orthotics in them. (The orthotics do not have custion, they are more for muscular skeletal correction.) And actually right before my trip, I sprained two of my smallest toes. My couch stuck it's leg out to trip me and failed in it's attempt, but succeeded in the worst stubbed toes of my life. They were bruised and sore when the trip started. BUT even with that sprain, these boots were still very very comfortable. They never bothered it one bit. Also, the cushioning is great in my opinion. I have back and hip issues that are worsened by long walks if I'm wearing the wrong shoes. It's a chain reaction thing. But even with long steep hikes in these boots, I had no issues the whole trip. They feel sturdy and lace up nice and tight. I highly recommend these, especially if you have flat feet.
