I ordered these shoes as a replacement for the discontinued Vasque Manyra 2.0. I wore them today for first time. Fits well and is comfortable out of the box. The shoe toe box seems a bit larger but still felt ok. I was walking on a cement bike/walking path it was not raining at the time so I did not get a chance to check out if water proof as advertised. Not really happy with the plastic eyelets hopefully they will hold up. I will give the shoes a more rugged work out in the days to come and will update my rating at that time. I had emailed Vasque company and had asked what the closest model would be to the discontinued mantra style. Surprisingly they answered within a week and said it was this shoe. Hopefully it will last like the old shoeThese wear well and run slightly narrower than most of the gunboat wide boots out there. Good fit and wear about 3 times longer than the discount box store hikers, making these cheaper in the long run.The Talus XT low hiking shoes are fairly comfortable out of the box. They have a wider toe box which is nice for flatter feet folks like myself. Overall build quality seems good. I would not recommend for hot environments since this is an all leather hiking shoe. They are waterproof based on the fact I wore them on a 15km hike through streams and feet stayed dry from the outside elements. The tongue seemed to poke into my inside top of both my feet for some reason, but they eased after the hike. I attribute it to just needing to be broken in. I felt pretty secure on dry rocks, but when things got muddy or a little wet on the rocks, the treads felt pretty sketchy. The treads aren't as nubbly, so they don't provide great grip in mud. I also thought the treads didn't provide much stickiness when things got wet.Been wearing a pair of Vasque Breeze non-GTX hiking shoes for like 5 years. Best hiking shoes I've ever owned. Relatively light, cool (well ventilated) and just super comfortable right out of the box. If I had known they were going to stop making them I would have bought several pair to last a while. But I didn't, and I finally wore them out so I decided to give the Vasque Talus Xt a try. Maybe the Breeze just set too high of a bar, but I'm disappointed with the Talus Xt.. They're noticeably heavier than the Breeze, not well ventilated, and aren't nearly as comfortable. I'm going to keep them in hopes that they break-in. Hoping even more that Vasque brings back the Breeze non-GTX!I prefer the JUXT, the Talus is much stiffer, but typical high quality vasque. Can't go wrong with Vasque. This is my first pair that I'm still wearing after 4 years with the v sole, also the new ones feel like they have already been broken in just like these, and was on sale for $99. Love them also to point out that I'm in construction and very hard on shoes and also very good on roofs.I ordered the same size i usually wear in Vasque. They are great shoes but run at least a half size too large.I've been wearing Vasque Juxt for two years or more and love them. I though I'd change it up a little and ordered these Talus XT in size 11. They are slightly heavier in the sole than the Juxt. More of a trail hiking shoe. Also, they seem to run a little large. I'm a solid 11 and the Just 11 fit perfect. These Talus have a 1/4 inch or so of extra room and I'm worried about blisters. Even my inserts slide a little. We'll see how that works out I guess.I ordered a 9.5 size shoe and the shoes I got were marked 9.5. They are a size too bigC'est ma deuxième paires de Vasque. Très satisfait.
