This is the eighth pair of Rax Hiking Shoes I’ve purchased in the last two years, most of them I’ve got for myself but I like to share in the excitement so I’ve bought pairs for friends and family. These snow boots were next on my list. The weather has finally gotten cold enough to showcase them daily. They are very comfortable as all Rax boots have been. My foot measures a 9.5. I always buy a 10. Since Rax only comes in 10.5 then that is the option I’ve been going with and the size fits perfectly. The Sandler I got a 9.5 so they fit tight and I love them and wish they would reissue them again so I can get another pair. I will most likely get another pair this month for my friend. Rax is a very clean stylish shoe to wear around town or hiking. My first pair I still wear working on a tree farm where the ground can be wet and a lot of walking involved. I said when I got them I was going to beat them up and I have and they are still kicking. To answer some common questions. Are they water proof? To a certain degree they will keep your feet dry but under conditions of extreme heavy saturation, NO. Gortex is recommended for extreme wet conditions. But for average day hikes they will perform beautifully and make you feel like an Ultra Runner. Get the half size up from what you where. The snow boots haven’t had the extreme test but for my upcoming trip to WV in February without a doubt my feet will stay warm no matter the condition. Obviously for subzero temps a more advanced boot is recommended. They look so good with casual clothes that it’s hard to get them dirty. In a nutshell..stylish, comfortable, durable and priced so well you should get two. One to wear around and the other to get dirty. My Amazon experience was superb as usual.
