Very comfortable shoe, weather and waterproof criteria important has it rains a lot here. So far no problemPlenty of toe room, very good support laterally. I believe it is one of the best shoes for those of us concerned about plantar fasciitis. Dreadful expensive though. Close second I think is the Brooks Addiction walker for some 60 dollars less (list price). I alternate between the two and like each for slightly different reasons.. My sense is that the Dunham is a stronger - better structured - shoe and will last longer. I'll update if this proves to be the case one way or the other.Problem: I liked the shoe, per the above description. But after only 7 or 8 wearings, the little strap that holds one of the metal eyelets through which the shoe laces feed broke. It did not look like a repair was possible. Outside the return date, discouraging. On the good side, the seller sent a replacement pair based on my review of the problem without being asked, and I have not seen any other reviewer note a similar problem, nor have I had problems with two other Exeters I purchased later. I'll put it down to a manufacturing anomaly that was dealt with quickly. and professionally - excellent customer service. After more than a year of wear on Exeters in all weather - no further issues. These are the best walking shoes I've ever worn. Highly recommended. I wear a 9.5D or 10D depending on shoe design, and for the Exeter if is the 10D for me.At the age of 70 and having worn mainly athletic shoes for the past five years (retired), I find my feet generally do not like leather shoes...any leather shoes. Still, I wanted some walking shoes that were waterproof, or at least water resistant. I have been wearing these shoes for around a week now, several hours a day, and, so far, really like them. While some reviewers say their Dunhams required no break-in, mine have required a bit, but that is probably because I am so used to athletic shoes. Even so, the break in has gone very well and they were reasonably comfortable from the start. At this point I hardly notice I am wearing them. I have not had them out in heavy rain at this point, but have worn them in drizzling rain and they have kept my feet dry. Anyhow, they are the best water proof shoes I have owned and they are very easy to walk in.Update:06/03/2018 - Very heavy rain today. Wore the Dunhams into and out of stores all afternoon, probably close to a full hour in the direct rain. Not one drop appears to have made it into the shoes themselves. I was careful to avoid puddles that were possibly deeper than the top of the shoe. Very satisfied at this point with the water resistance.I've had these shoes for nearly 2 years now. They've held up well to fairly constant use. They were comfortable out of the box and have remained so throughout. The leather upper still looks good and the soles have not worn down significantly. Useful and comfortable both in daily use and when hiking trails.A very versatile and comfortable shoe.Unusual for a man to have narrow feet. While This shoe is not as narrow as I hoped, it one of the few shoes that is actually comfortable on my AA narrow feet. I will buy a second pair just so I have this pair when the ones I just bought wear out.As a man with AA narrow feet, this is, to date, the most comfortable walking shoe I have worn In years. (This is almost as comfortable as the New Balance sneakers I usually buy.)I wear size 14B. Last winter I purchased the Exeter Boot, a high top version of this model, and really liked the fit and performance. The low top version has the same foot structure and fit, and I am again very pleased with the shoe. The toe box is roomy despite the narrow width, and the lace system provides a secure fit to the rest of the foot. The thick sole provides for firm but cushioned support to the bottom of my foot. I like the two-tone appearance provided by the nubuck trim, but others might find it not as appealing. The nubuck trim does make polishing the shoe a bit more difficult, but not a significant problem if you take time in that area while adding polish. I used the boot heavily in the winter on my job, which includes significant outdoor work, and it performed very well; and I expect the same performance from the shoe.I was somewhat surprised at the width and height of the toe-box in these shoes which give ample room for my toes to roam especially as I previously tried a 4E pair for New Balance which were much more confining. To look at they remind of a pair of Ecco (much more expensive I admit) shoes which seemed sturdier than these but, unhappily, Ecco do not make the wider widths thus these are something of a compromise for me but so far they seem to be working just fine. Far too little use to comment on durability I'm afraid.I usually buy Duhnam's in size 8 2E (wide). Unfortunately, this style was not available in 2E; Yes for 4E (x-wide) and D (medium width), but not 2E. So I tried the 8D, but they were too tight/small, so I had to return them. A shame, since they seem like a nice, waterproof style (Goretex!).Wow what a comfortable shoe great quality made hopefully long enough to last got a lot of walking to do at work. I would recommend to buy. Expensive, but you get what you pay for...?Paid $120 and taxes in black…. want brown but they were triple the price ??? Great mystery Go figure ???I have a pair of brown ones and like them so much with gore-tex I got these black one when I saw the priceat $120 cdn I jumped on themGreat quality, fit and comfort.Déjà acheté et bien aimé
