Love the looks and I have no doubt they will be as durable as my previous pair of Salomons. For me they were not comfortable due to the insole. The cut is weird on them causing the edge to fall in the center of the arch of my foot. I replaced the insole but not sure how they will work in the water.I like these type of shoes for summer for breathability. I wear a size 9.5 in American brands and 10 in foreign. The 10 is just large enough for my foot. I do wear socks with this for multiple reasons including ankle chaffing (other brands too), and the 10 is tight with thin socks. I do not think there is enough room if you want to use aftermarket insoles. They might loosen up with use.The color is lighter and brighter (probably because of the plastic sheen) in person than in pictures (green). Not too bad, but I was a little disappointed when I opened the box.The material feels thin. I am worried that it will tear easily when walking through rock filled terrain or where bushes have broken branches poking out.Overall I'm ok with it, but I might dedicate it for less harsh terrain. My two previous shoes of this type were Terra and Keen, but they don't offer similar models anymore. The Keen has great soles for traction on loose terrain, and the Terra was used in the ocean and islands without complaint (except for ankle chaffing without socks).I do a lot of paddling and my other shoes had issue with drying and therefore led to odor that could knock you over. Discovered over time the odor 60% or more caused by the shoe material; these shooed have no odor except “river water” which is mild. The shows do not let sand and small particles in (still can get stuff over top around ankles if you sink in) and the shoes drain and dry quick.They have great support for your heals when padding; like wearing cross trainers for the water.Ordered a second pair to have spares on my multi-day races/trips.Best water show for the money.my bet on size US 9/UK 8.5 was spot on and I am glad I did. usually I wear US9.5/UK 9 for speed cross, ultra glide, xa pro 3d GTX, X ultra 4 mid GTX and US8/UK 7.5 for RX Break sandal. Lesson Learnt: Sandal vs cross amphibian vs running/trail/hiking shoes have different fitting....stark contrast between sandal and the rest. so don't be fooled to choose your size merely based on the size chart provided in the brochure. My heel-toe length is 26.5 cm @ 10.4inch, thus based on the chart my size should be US 9/UK 8.5/EURO 42 2/3. ENSURE to wear the same thickness of socks, allow space for comfort and safety of your toes. I am contemplating to buy another cross amphibians shoes, of different colour with size US8.5/UK 8 because Salomon is running out of size US9/UK8.5.* I wear socks with @ 1-2 mm thickness @ the usual nike/Adidas socks..for my running/trail/ hiking and cross amphibians.If I were an end these would have been an ideal shoe. They were too narrow for my size 6 daughter let alone my 7.5Got these specifically for some hiking where I knew I’d likely get them wet. Thought they were great at first - lightweight, comfortable and drained easily. Then they took three days to dry and got a terrible smell. Seems like ordinary shoes would have dried more quickly.They fit differently then other Salomons, foot lenght is as expected but they are very narrow and tight making it very hard to put on, orthotics won't fit in, not at all comfortableIf you are hiking clear trails in hot weather or going thru streams, these are great. For narrow trails or walking thru grass, these seem to snag easily on stickers, burrs, and seeds.As expected Salomon quality lives up expectations, feels like has been made really well. However they didn’t fit me well, as I have slightly wide feet - so they where too tight for me to wear.Very comfortable water shoes that can be worn as trainers. As with all Salomons, buy a size larger than your usual fit.Great product.
