My husband and I both purchased a pair for a wet trip up Hell's Canyon on the Oregon/Idaho border. We knew it would be really hot and we would be getting wet and also hiking on rocks outside the river. We were both very impressed with the durability of these shoes. They did great on uneven rocky ground as well as in the river on slippery rocks. They have a very stable foot bed and the rubber is much thicker than my swimming pool shoes. They remind me of hiking soles, though not quite as thick. They dried fairly quickly once we were out of the water.Hubby has really hot feet and won't wear sandals, so these looked a lot more like hikers that he normally wears but they have the mesh-like fabric so they breath making our feet cooler.We got our normal shoe sizes. I wear an 8.5 and this is what I ordered and they fit great.Hubby is a 10.5 - 11 and he ordered the 11 and it too was a great fit.We were both really glad we went with these shoes.They did take a few days to get here, so don't cut it close if you need to order for a trip!
