These boots surprised me I need hiking boots for my trip to Utah and was hesitant because I wouldn’t have the time to break them in or return them if they didn’t fit. They were perfect super comfortable, water resistant, and I got no blisters. I would recommend thicker crew socks for comfortExtremely comfortable, looks great fits perfect, fantastic grip to the soles. I have only had them a few days, but so far I love them.Price was good. The shoe fit was ok but much stiffer and less cushion than the Colombian hiker. I am returning them.Me gustoI loved the way the shoes fit and I really liked the style. But, when I tried on the right shoe and began to lace it up, the upper loop in which the lace was to feed through broke. So tying the shoe just wasn't working. If I could've sewn the loop back properly, I probably would have kept the shoes.Clearly this company did no research on footwear. I’m a mail carrier and was looking for breathable summer footwear with good traction that supported my ankles as I I have plantar fasciitis.1. They have absolutely no foot support I ripped out the completely useless flat thin insole and replaced it with my own.2. They are lightweight but bulky in an odd way like a puffy coat. And they have an odd shape that doesn’t follow the form of my foot like my Columbia boots do. It reminds me of slipping on a man’s high top. Yes, I can walk but my feet look huge and odd.3. And this one is important when you work in 90-100 degree weather. My feet were so hot & sweaty after working all day. And I was driving most of the day. I can’t imagine what they’d been like if I was actually hiking or working in the yard.4. $59 seemed like a bargain compared to some name brands I’ve seen and bought. Then I calculated how long & hard I had to work in a day to make that same amount of money. Not worth it!!I don't really do much hiking anymore due to all the medical issues (it's a beast anytime your back goes sideways and pinches off nerves so you can't even stand up, and being a mile or two back in on a moderately difficult trail when that happens makes for calls to rescue teams that are easily avoided by sticking to short, mostly level trails), but I used to think nothing of putting in a 10-12 mile day.I ordered these when my medical issues had settled down a little, but between ordering them and their arrival, my feet swelled massively due to my liver and kidney function going out of whack, so I couldn't even try them on for almost two weeks until my feet stopped having an extra 2.5 inches of swelling across the instep. I wouldn't have been able to give any real depth to my review otherwise. Now that I've had a few days to be able to wear them, they're pretty good. They're light enough that my feet aren't feeling like I'm wearing ankle weights when I walk (and that happens very quickly with most heavy shoes due to fatigue being a hallmark of several of my chronic illnesses), but the soles and ankle collar help immensely at putting my heel down squarely and not rolling my ankles mid-walk. And they provide enough support that I'm okay to go off the flat and level for a few minutes to get around a fallen log or shoot a photo or three. They are PU leather/faux leather, which is expected at this price point, but they're layered well and the faux leather is combined with tough nylon and very sturdy bumpers around the toe box and heel. The pair I got is a brownish-grey, like a dark taupe, with accent colors I'd best describe as lilac and medium-light purple. The outer soles are very firm, which is a good thing as it protects the soles of your feet from feeling every point of a rocky trail through the mountains. The insoles are comfortable, though I'd appreciate more arch support out of the box--but that's due to my abnormally high arches rather than being a fault of the manufacturer; they'll be fine for most people. The toe boxes seemed a little roomier than normal, but I'm not quite sure if that's the shoes themselves or the small amount of remaining swelling from my liver and kidney issues holding the base of the tongue up and making it feel like there's more room; either way, I can easily wear thick socks in these, which is important for actual hikes, or for keeping my feet warm and dry in the milder Arkansas winters. It took me about a week of wearing them for progressively longer periods each day to get them broken in to where I'd want to wear them for a short day hike, which is about normal from when I broke in a new pair every 6 months back before I got too sick. All in all, I'm happy with them, though frustrated that my medical problems make them harder to use.I wore these boots for the first time yesterday, on a 6 mile mountain ridge hike in Hawaii. They are comfortable, sturdy and lightweight, and felt good the entire time! They handle rough, rocky and muddy terrain well, and are breathable and supportive. The fit is true to size, I wear a 6.5-7 and ordered a 7 to give me room for thick hiking socks. There's a good level of cushion around the ankle, and surprisingly for a pair of new shoes, I didn't experience any rubbing or discomfort at all. The insoles have light padding - I was still able to feel the terrain under my feet, but never to an uncomfortable level. For the price, these are some stellar hiking boots - I've paid more for hiking shoes that didn't feel nearly this nice to wear. Khombu is also a trustworthy brand, I've bought multiple pairs of winter boots from them in the past and never been let down by the quality. I'm 100% satisfied with these boots, and they've replaced my old hiking shoes!
