Great for hikes around campusWell as you can see by my picture ,I definitely put these shoes to some good use. So 1st I choose these over the updated version cuz the new one seemed to lean towards hiking in cold climates. I live in texas where its hot as hell so I didn't want well insulated shoes meant for the cold. Btw I read someone complaining that they rolled there ankle cuz of no ankle support. Well they are clearly low tops so idk what that guy expected. So if you need that kind of support go buy boots not shoes. As for me I actually know how to walk well so I wanted shoes cuz boots are just to much to deal with unless I camp in cold weather again. So I own some Colombia hiking boots as well but prefer these for TX hiking. I am a 330 lb man and went on a 7+ mile hike involving steep amd rocky slopes. I had to climb big rocks and go down loose rocks. I also walked in really shallow water. They will still slip on slippery wet clay or algea covered rocks. So be careful on that but still gripped very well on regular wet rocks and everything else. And I saw ppl complaining about how they're not really water proof. Now I didn't get up to the laces but my foot was still submerged a bit and my toes were completely in the water. Well my feet stayed dry the entire time thru the several times I walked in a little water. Well hope this helps my fellow travelers in their decision. I am personally happy with this purchase.This is the only pair of adidas I've ever purchased that didn't fit perfectly. I wear nothing but adidas.Loved the shoes, with the price vs quality is amazing. It's not the gtx variant, but with the price you pay it's amazing value for money. Comfort, quality, great for trekking usage. Someone who need ankle support, may be this is not the right choice since it's not high neck styled shoes.These are comfortable and secure shoes for hiking in desert sand and across rocks. Cholla cactus does not stick badly in the soles. Definitely good basic hiking shoes that are comfy right out of the box. Usually buy a size 10, but bought a 10.5 based on Adidas size chart, actually measured foot with a ruler however shoes were too large and had to exchange—of course the price had gone up 20%! Order your usual size and disregard the size chart, I only measured carefully as I was not familiar with Adidas shoes.I really like these as my daily drivers. They fit good but a bit snug, not enough to exchange. I will probably order a half size larger once these wear out, which will probably be a while. Really good traction in ice and snow, waterproof enough that I haven't ended up with wet feet from snow melt and slush so no complaints here.Love these shoesI'm a size 10 in most shoes, but after going for a hike in these, my toes turned black and were bruised for days. They felt fine at first, but I soon realized they fit more like a 9.5 shoe. Couldn't return them because I had used them for that hike and they were "used" looking with dust and dirt. I can't bring myself to buy another pair of Adidas online, which stinks, because I love Adidas. SadThe only reason I'm not giving a 5 star is because all my other Adidas shoes are 10 1/2 and these seem big. The other reason is because they are NOT summer shoes. They keep your feet very warm. I bought these for landscaping work and I'm confident that they will come in very handy in the fall and early winter.I bought this shoe for walking in Canada. The insole is very bad I needed to buy new special one. It's very hard from inside. The first few days it was very painful for me then it became fine. The waterproof is good and I never felt any water inside. The shoe size somehow is bigger about ½ size so choose wisely.Takes a long time to break in and not the best shoes for mailmen at all.
