Who says that pretty can’t be tough? For ladies in search of a durable, waterproof, and fashionable low-top hiking shoe, Columbia offers an exceptional solution. The Columbia Women’s Redmond Waterproof Low Hiking Shoe is an incredible waterproof low-top hiking shoe that is rugged, durable, comfortable, and elegant. It’s a low top hiking shoe that is perfect for the outdoor enthusiast or the casual hiker in search of a waterproof and cushioned shoe for multiple surfaces. It’s an exceptional option for day trips to the mountains or for daily use for those who work in off-road terrain environments. This women’s hiking shoe is available in two colors and multiple sizes. To ensure that you receive the perfect-sized hiking shoes, follow these steps for proper measurement. Use a material measuring tape and fold it up at the dotted line. Place the heel against a wall or other 90-degree surface and place your foot on a piece of paper or cardboard. Mark the end of the longest toe with a pen or pencil. Measure both feet and use the larger measurement. Compare the measurement to the size chart. Find the closest larger measurement and use that number to determine your shoe size for your country’s shoe measurement standards. This durable waterproof hiking boot promises high energy return with its lightweight cushioned midsole, super traction with its aggressive outsole, and more comfort than you can imagine. Columbia has put a lot of engineering and advanced technology into designing a women’s hiking shoe that is comfortable and can hold up against extreme elements. The upper layer is a combination of suede leather, mesh, and webbing. The midsole is lightweight Techlite material, while the non-marking traction rubber outsole provides superior traction. Columbia Techlite material is added to this waterproof hiking shoe that provides superior cushioning for impact absorption and high energy return for enhanced comfort.
Good-looking shoe; breathable & lightweight plus waterproof. After trying 6 previous similar shoes by other known manufacturers, it seemed to be the best I could get. No cushioned sole, so I took Columbia's out and put in a more cushioned one. No arch support so I added an orthotic.Good looking, nice neutral cement color that won't show dirt too badly, and the right length, plus I liked the breathable waterproofing. So coming after the 7 previous uncomfortable trail shoes I tried, I decided to make do with these Columbia's with some additions. A thicker foam sole for comfort; an arch support orthotic for the flat insole that it had. It is now being stretched to give me a bit more room for the toe box. With thin socks it will work for summer hikes. Today I just received Merrell Moab 2 Prime and it fits me better - absolutely no need to do anything for it to feel comfortable right out of the box. I'll keep it for a waterproof trail shoe in cooler weather as it will handle a thicker sock. If I had it to do over again, I'd go only with the Merrell. But the Columbia is a good shoe if you do not have high arches and don't need a wide toe box. Maybe just a thicker insole for more cushioning. Makes my size ten feet look cute, and the breathable waterproofing will be great if you expect rain or streams. Great sole for hiking on rocks, too. Alas - we all have such different feet, try on several pairs and wear them for for at least an hour around the house to make sure they are comfortable for your unique foot.I purchased these shoes for an upcoming trip to Canada. I've been wearing them around the house and for local hiking to break them in and LOVE THEM. I walk an average of 4-10 miles a day (dog walker) so can tell you these are the most comfortable shoes I've owned in years, both on pavement, gravel, and dirt. I wear 7.5 wide and ordered 7.5 and these fit perfectly. They are light and breathable my feet don't feel sweaty. They look nice enough to wear as regular shoes, which will save me from overpacking shoes on my trip. The arch support is non-existent so I may add insoles but otherwise, these are great shoes for the price.POST TRIP UPDATE: I wore these (without additional arch support) for all the activities: walking around the cities and towns, putting over 22,000 steps a day on them on paved and gravel surfaces. My friend that I traveled with complained about pain in his feet and knees toward day's end from his regular athletic shoes. We also hiked on dirt and rocks, got caught in the rain (my feet stayed dry), and biked 22 miles in Acadia Natl Park. My friend complained that his shoes slipped on the rental bike pedals but these shoes gripped them nicely with the rubber traction soles. I really didn't need any other shoes except dress-up. One note, they are breathable but my feet did sweat some in them. I think wool socks might be the ticket to solve that problem - I wore regular thin athletic socks. Also, the shoes stay looking nice after all the wear. These shoes are exactly what I was looking for, until I realized they are causing pain on the right side of my left foot. I am a zookeeper so they are getting daily use. Sometimes I have to finish out my shift in my water boots due to the pain the left shoe causes.PROS: they are definitely waterproof and they are proving to be very durable! After months of daily use they still look near-new!CONS: they run pretty small; I returned the 1st pair and went up a 1/2 size larger; I would have gotten the next 1/2 size larger except that I was out of time - I needed them and couldn't wait for the next size to arrive (this would have been 2 exchanges now due to them running small).I would love to continue wearing them, as they are still in great shape, however the pain that comes from the left shoe won't allow me to continue on with them. This is so disappointing.I’m skeptical about the waterproof because of the mesh areas. I have not walked in rain but have walked in dew. The water resistance held up but I felt my socks were damp when I used a hose to spray some mud off. I have worn 7.5 forever but these shoes were too small. I have narrow flat feet. I had to return them for a size 8, which was perfect. But I’m burying the lead: I LOVE these shoes!!! I have done running and hiking for decades and worn Nike, Brooks, Ahnu, Clarks, Columbia and Merrill. This the most comfortable shoe I’ve bought. I only give it four stars because I don’t think they are truly waterproof. Comfort would be rated as 6 out of 5!Excellent multi-terrain shoe. The soles have an excellent grip pattern without making the bottom of the shoe too thick. Experienced some foot fatigue the second time I wore them but had worn them all day. Wear well with somewhat padded footies or thin wool socks. After wearing once or twice a week for three months, there are no abnormal signs of breakdown. Very satisfied with the fit and wearability on my size 10 N high-arched feet. Would buy again.I just received these today. I ordered a 7. 5 based on the reviews I read and I am glad I did. 99% of the time wear a 7 this is the 1% that I needed a 7.5. These are just a bit short but as long as I wear thin socks they will be fine. They are definitely more of a summer shoe.. no insulation. They are a bit more heavy than I though they would be But over all they will work for what I purchased them for.. light hiking and working in the yard.Bought these as a gift for my wife. She’s been wanting a nice pair of hiking shoes and these seemed to be the one. The shoe was about 1/2 size smalller than regular fit. We returned them only due to that reason and reordered 1/2 size larger immediately. Once the 2nd pair arrived, she loved them. Highly recommend wearing hiking socks as these shoes provide the support, but can rub with normal walking socks.Happy with this hiking shoe. The toe box does feel a little tight after a long hike, but that is my only complaint.Excellent quality but sizing too small, I re ordered a size larger and that was fine.Shoes are hard so taking some time to break in and definitely require exact socks to manage the break-in of the shoes - perhaps highlight that hiking / specific socks recommended with this product.I tried a pair on before ordering and I was half a size larger than normal but these came down as I expectedA little bit tight in the length but a size up is always too large.Cool design, good material, waterproof, but its not very confortable. Its a kind small and hard to walk. I like Columbia wear but didn't like much this shoe.
